Worldwide Lyme Protest May 10th & 11th 2013
Victoria : Melbourne - Awareness Event, May 11th

The Days Events and Photos
Picture

The Days Round-up: The Victorian Lyme team had a huge day, with lots of activities and Lyme Awareness happening.

A short summary of the day from Sue McFarlane:
"In Melbourne's Federation Square we had a very successful afternoon, with around 80-100 Lyme patients, family and friends attending throughout the event. We handed out over 1000 brochures and talked to many passers by about Lyme disease. Everyone enjoyed the live music and the face painting was a hit with children and adults alike. It was a great atmosphere and a great day was had by all who came along. Federation square also lit up green on both Friday and Saturday night".

See below for: Photos of the day, and also from Federation square that lit up green for awareness. A you-tube video Federation Square Big Screen. The awareness advertisement from Ch31 TV Melbourne.  Links to media coverage.

Thanks also to Sim for altering the poster slides for use in the advertising.

Federation Square was one of many landmarks / buildings in Australia,  that kindly "lit up for Lyme". See Below for more pictures of Fed Square, and Australian Landmarks Shining for Lyme for further details on other landmarks / buildings that lit up green around Australia.

Protest Sign Classic: As pictured above, thanks to Mark Rostoks

We’re cranky little Lymies
As sick as sick can be
We all enjoy our antibiotics
For breakfast, lunch and tea
Our Doctors say we’re getting
   better every single week
Because we love our doxycycline
We all adore our ceftriaxone
LYME PUTS AN INJECTION IN EVERY BUTT CHEEK

For those that aren't from Australia - this was written to a classic tune from an old vegemite advertisement -

We're happy little Vegemites
As bright as bright can be.
We all enjoy our Vegemite
For breakfast, lunch and tea.
Our Mummies say we're growing
    stronger every single week
Because we love our Vegemite.
We all adore our Vegemite.
IT PUTS A ROSE IN EVERY CHEEK!
